In July, Cebu Pacific expanded its route network by inaugurating commercial flights between Manila and Shenzhen. This move was made in line with the carrier’s agenda to cater to increasing demand among leisure and business travelers.
Shenzhen is CEB’s fifth destination in China, after Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Xiamen.
Shenzhen, known also as China’s Silicon Valley, is situated in the booming Pearl River Delta and China’s first special economic zone. The city serves as one of the country’s leading technology and innovation hubs, housing the headquarters of such tech giants as Huawei and Tencent.
“We want to provide our travelers with a viable option to reach some of the globe’s most crucial commercial centers. Our new direct service between Manila and Shenzhen will enable faster movement of people and products, providing increased mobility and access in some of the fastest-growing economies in the world,” says Candice Iyog, vice-president for marketing and distribution at Cebu Pacific.
Flights between Manila and Shenzhen run four times weekly — every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Flight time is about two hours and 40 minutes and the flight timings of said sectors will enable travelers to make full use of business hours, in both Manila and Shenzhen.
