Celebrate Coachella’s 20th Year, Couchella-Style

The team behind the seminal music festival released Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert as free-to-stream YouTube Original documentary.

Originally booked to be in the Indio, California desert this month but now you’re home imagining what it would be like to see your favorites — Big Bang, Caribou, FKA Twigs, Flume, Peggy Gou, Yaeji and more were part of the original lineup — up-close? Fret not as the organizers have a special serving of a feature-length documentary — Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert — to please fans and followers.

Compiling footage — such as that Tupac hologram from 2012 — performances, never-before-seen clips and exclusive interviews with artists including Billie Eilish, Kanye West, Radiohead and The White Stripes, the documentary offers a colorful yet condensed account of the Coachella story and how it’s become the recognized festival it is today.

The two-weekend event has been moved to 9–11 October and 16-18 October, 2020, while Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert premieres on YouTube on 10 April at 12pm Pacific time (3am Manila time, 11 April), the day that the festival was originally scheduled to open.
