Indulge your inner queen or king
If Marie-Antoinette had designed a boutique hotel in Baguio City, the Kamiseta Hotel would be it. The six-room boutique hotel, which has been welcoming guests and their dropped jaws since September last year, certainly has the infamous French monarch’s over-the-top aesthetic. The lobby alone is a study in opulence — a huge shimmering crystal chandelier hangs from a mirrored ceiling; the chairs are upholstered in a mish-mash of elaborate patterns ranging from floral to geometric; the walls are covered with gold-gilded mirrors and wallpapered in floral prints; and the carpets scream with chintz. Every corner is oozing with excess, crammed with vintage vases, porcelain figurines, gold lamps and expensive trinkets dipped in gold. Surprisingly, this explosion of colors and patterns all comes together rather tastefully, and gives guests an Instagram-worthy backdrop to their mountain getaway. The rooms also cater to one’s inner queen and princess, and are named Katie, Petra, Natalia, Natalie and Alicia. And to complete the feeling of royalty, the hotel has an equally pretty Vanilla Café serving up their signature Vanilla cupcakes and, of course, tea to complement the cool Baguio weather. Now who wants to visit Baguio and eat some cake? 20 Villamor St, Brgy Lualhati; +63 74 442 4613
