There will be sporting events, a dance competition, a trade fair and more
What do you get when you combine fresh local produce and a lively street party? You get the Lanzones Festival (October 24–30), an annual event held in Mambajao town in Camiguin province that celebrates the harvest of lanzones (a native fruit that provides many locals with their main source of income). Legend has it that the festival was started out of respect for a wish-granting lanzones tree fairy. In its 38th iteration, the festival will feature sporting events, a dance competition, a trade fair and more. But the highlight is its free-for-all street dancing event. Revel with dolled-up locals (embellished with lanzones, no less!) as they parade through the streets. Hang around the Cong PPR Tourism and Sports Complex to catch the best of the action.
