Bui Vien (pictured) and De Tham streets in Pham Ngu Lao Ward are the best for nightlife action. Bui Vien — nicknamed “Beer Street” — is a great place to soak up the buzzing atmosphere with an ice-cold brew in hand.
You can’t leave the city without passing through Pub Street, where both tourists and locals unwind as soon as the sun sets. Take your pick from the area’s bars, restaurants and clubs, all of which offer a good time at seriously reasonable prices.
Jalan Legian is the street that connects Kuta and Seminyak, two of the island’s party districts. Begin the day early with outlet shopping and stay past sundown to enjoy the lively party scene. Don’t miss the Rooftop Garden Lounge at Legian nightlife institution Sky Garden.
Poblacion has a youthful vibe and offers something for everyone. Explore places with dining options and live entertainment, such as Commune Café, which hosts the occasional improv theater show, as well as Pura Vida for the reggae vibe. For food, Lobo Filipino Tavern and The Wild Poppy present refreshing takes on Pinoy and Southeast Asian dishes.
