Taste the wide range of Singapore flavors at the 24th edition of the Singapore Food Festival
This month is sure to get foodies in the sunny island all bright-eyed and bushy tailed, as the 24th edition of the Singapore Food Festival returns with an exciting theme of “Savour Singapore in Every Bite”.
This year, the focus is on Singapore’s heritage and flavors, drawing on inspirations from local hawker eats to innovative culinary creations. Held across various locations in the country, 20 exclusive culinary experiences await in the forms of pop-up restaurants, cooking demonstrations, exhibitions, and many more.
One of the most highly anticipated event, STREAT, located at Clifford Square from July 14-15, is back for its third edition with an interesting collaboration to look forward to. Led by Michelin-starred Peranakan chef Malcolm Lee and founder of Mod-Sin cuisine, chef Willin Low, the pair will combine forces to prepare a three-course meal which embodies both traditional and modern elements. Nine food stalls will also be set up to feature unique fusion cuisine whipped up by restaurant chefs and “hawkerpreneurs”.
Also making its debut at ION Orchard’s basement from July 22 – 23 is the Singapore Tea Festival, which invites both tea experts and enthusiasts to bond over all things tea-related – be it sipping on traditional brews and creative blends or exploring the tea culture at the Tea Museum. Shop at the Tea Market from local companies like Pin Tea, The 1872 Clipper Tea Co and Collaboration Tea, or lounge at the ‘Teapitiam’ (a pop-up tea café), a spin-off from the traditional kopitiam (coffee shop).
