Turn Your Tote Into A Smart Bag With This Travel Tag

Having trouble staying organized when you travel? Always know where your passport and laptop are with Adero, the first intelligent system that turns any pack into a smart bag.

Get smart

The heart of Adero is its Smart Tag, a tiny gadget weighing 5g that needs to be attached to your backpack, travel carry-on, handbag or gym bag. It keeps track of all of your gadgets via an army of Taglets — if it doesn’t sense one of them, the Smart Tag will light red.

Check in

With a Smart Tag connected, attach the tiny Taglets, which weigh just 2.2g, on gadgets or objects that you want to keep track of. A water-resistant device that can be stuck to anything, a Taglet sends messages to the Smart Tag when it’s in close range — effectively checking in every few seconds. If the Smart Tag senses that all the Taglets are in proximity, it glows green. That means your bag is packed and ready to go!

Contain it

With a Smart Tag in your bag and Taglets on your treasured possessions, you can use the free Adero app to create a smart “container”. For example, a carry-on bag armed with a Smart Tag can be set up to look for the Taglets on your passport, headphones and laptop. Adero uses a proximity system, so it’s important to put items with Taglets inside their usual bags and not simply placed close to it — otherwise Adero may think that the bag is packed when it’s not.

Stay on schedule

The Adero app can also be used to send you handy event-based push notifications based on your schedule. So you can have Adero message you at 7am telling you whether your laptop and charger are in your work bag; and at 6pm, it can let you know if your spin shoes are in your gym bag. Although the Smart Tag glows red, you’ll need to open the app to see exactly which objects are missing.

Keep tabs

For a day out in town, try the Starter Kit (US$80), which comes with one Smart Tag and a variety of ways to attach it, as well as a Smart Tag recharger and three Taglets. Packing for an overseas trip? The Deluxe Kit (US$200) comes with five Smart Tags and nine Taglets.
