Tales of the Manuvu by Ballet Philippines
Next on Ballet Philippines’ lineup is a rock opera ballet about the Manobo tribe in Mindanao is all-Filipino. It features choreography by National Artist for Dance, Alice Reyes, and a libretto from National Artist for Literature, Bienvenido Lumbera. Each show will feature performances from musical theater actors as well as classically-trained singers, including the legendary Celeste Legaspi. Rock band Radioactive Sago Project also takes centerstage, led by musical director and producer Francis de Veyra.

The Phantom of the Opera from Concertus Manila
Don’t miss the chance to watch Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit! This world tour has announced they’re extending the Manila leg of their run until April 6th before heading to Singapore. Their next stops within Cebu Pacific Air’s network include Kuala Lumpur and Dubai. Trivia: Jonathan Roxmouth who plays the Phantom, also played the same role in Manila for its first run in 2012.

The hit jukebox musical to Eraserheads’ songs is still running through April. Experience the band’s hit songs like ‘Alapaap’ and ‘With a Smile’ in a whole new way! The first part of Tony Kushner’s masterwork series is being restaged in Manila this year under the direction of Bobby Garcia. The complex play examines homosexuality and AIDS in America during the 80s. It stars stage and screen actresses Cherie Gil and Angeli Bayani, as well as theater actors Art Acuña, Topper Fabregas, and Markki Stroem.

Father’s Day by Repertory Philippines
Looking for a laugh? Repertory Philippines’ Father’s Day is a comedy about a dysfunctional family that highlights a father’s reunion with his estranged son. It features performances from stage veterans Liesl Batucan and Miguel Faustmann, as well as newcomer Andres Borromeo.

The Dresser by Repertory Philippines
If you’re hoping for a play centered on meaty performances, this British drama about an aging actor and his assistant might be right up your alley. It stars Audie Gemora and Teroy Guzman and directed by film director, Loy Arcenas.

The Kundiman Party by Philippine Educational Theater Association
Experience a sampling of kundiman, or traditional Filipino love songs when you watch this play about a retired maestra (played by actress Shamaine Buencamino) rekindling her love for the craft and her country. Directed by Dexter M. Santos, this show premiered last year and returns for a limited run under PETA’s “State of the Nation” campaign this year.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical by the Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group
The Tony-nominated jukebox musical about singer-songwriter Carole King’s life is coming to Manila! Directed by Bobby Garcia, theater actress Kayla Rivera will star as Carole King. She was last seen in ATEG’s production of Side Show. Nick Varrichio, last seen in Saturday Night Fever, will play her husband and writing partner, Gerry Goffin.
