The new year means new game plan for fresh insights and exciting adventures
December 22 – January 19: It looks like you’re going to have a busy year, one that has you focused on the material side of things. Here are two reminders: know your potential and go after your goals; and recognize when you need some R&R. If you’ve got your year roughly sketched out, then be sure to also allocate time for short, restful getaways. Try long, leisurely drives to the next town or state to commune with nature, or to embark on a foodie trail.
January 20 – February 18: You’re like an arrow that’s just left the bow, flying forward into a year that’s set to be ruled by travel, great ideas and communication. Put yourself out there — for simple nights out with friends, or solo trips, to make the most of your year.
February 19 – March 20: It’s time to shed the beliefs that haven’t brought you growth and fulfillment. Freedom and clarity may be big themes too. If so, seek expansive spaces — like the top of Mt Daguldul in Batangas, which offers serenity and awe-inspiring views.
March 21 – April 19: Your 2018 may have felt like a year of hard knocks, but you’re now primed for a period of success. It’s a good time to take some leaps of faith — like turning a passion into a business or taking on the crazy-challenging Ultra-Trail Mt Fuji race.
April 20 – May 20: Had a tough 2018? The worst is over, but you’re asked to tread carefully. Make your well-being a top priority — plan for two or three wellness retreats (there’s The Farm at San Benito in Batangas) and space them out across the year.
May 21 – June 20: It’s great that you’re finding joy in the work that you do, but it also feels like it’s time to unburden yourself. The theme of journeys is part of the message: try extending a work trip to include one to two leisure days, and see how you go from there.
June 21 – July 22: The year begins on a positive note — you’re learning how to find more relief and stability. Smooth journeys are afoot and these could take the form of relaxing trips in nature. How about a glamping vacation along the Siem Reap river?
July 23 – August 22: This year, it’s all about giving and receiving love in a balanced way. To keep things flowing, take short sojourns in watery environments — search out a quiet beach or waterfall (that comes with a homestay option) and kick back for a day or two.
August 23 – September 22: You need to know that you hold the cards when it comes to personal situations. Help from your loved ones is also always at hand. To improve your social support network, plan for gatherings — bond over a craft workshop or boodle fight.
September 23 – October 22: A need for clarity of the self and emotions underscores the year. Personal space might be key, so don’t be afraid to wander off for a bit — maybe window shopping or appreciating an exhibition — and return when you’ve got a better grasp of things.
October 23 – November 21: There’s a path before you that supports major transformations. Know that obstacles are there to help you widen your comfort zone. Assess any limiting ideas — don’t let that iffy visa application hold you back — to invite flexibility and change.
November 22 – December 21: Your efforts are paying off; wealth is building for you. But remember to turn the engines off from time to time. Try focusing your energies on activities — a ceramics class or ATV riding in the desert? — that inject inspiration into your routine.
