Feel right at home in this sleepy town
Many of Samar’s visitors have resorted to staying in hotels in Tacloban City, on the other side of the San Juanico Bridge. The Spanish-era town of Calbiga, however, hosts the delightfully homey Lola Rosa Bed & Breakfast. A stone’s throw away from the town plaza, this restored 1930s-era house boasts hardwood interiors adorned with antiques and artworks by contemporary Filipino artists. The rooms come with air-conditioning and flatscreen TVs, and breakfast is served upon request. The best thing about this B&B, though, is that it makes you feel right at home in this sleepy town. lolarosacalbiga.wordpress.com
