Why You Need Travel Insurance

Have a worry-free trip by getting travel insurance, which protects you from risks like stolen luggage and cancellations — and gives you some peace of mind.

Financial adviser Jothan Christian Manlapaz weighs in on the advantages of travel insurance.

Convenience. You wouldn’t want to be stranded if your return flight gets grounded. Having travel insurance means having access to a 24/7 claims hotline to assist you in making new arrangements.

Cost-efficiency. With low premiums (Cebu Pacific’s TravelSure, for example, starts at just Php175), buying travel insurance is clearly less expensive than paying for hospital bills abroad. If you are hospitalized overseas, you can claim your medical expenses as long as your illness wasn’t pre-existing prior to your trip.

Prepares you for the unexpected. Whether it’s the loss of luggage during transit, flight cancellations because of travel restrictions, or the declaration of a pandemic, you can claim benefits and protection from your travel insurance.

Insure Your Trip

Cebu Pacific offers TravelSure packages that can keep your trip covered for a minimal fee. Basic Protection will cover emergency medical treatment in case of an incident or emergency, and includes personal accident insurance of up to Php2.5 million; this can be upgraded to include Baggage Protect (to compensate for lost or damaged baggage) and Fly Me Next (to defray rebooking fees).
