Ask the expert!

Q: What’s the best way to counter dryness while you’re on holiday?

Here are some steps to avoid uncomfortably dry and cracked skin:

1. Get a head start on fighting dehydration by drinking lots of water and moisturizing your skin on the plane

2. Use a combination of skin products. Pair a facial serum with an intensive night cream — I use a Doterra serum and L’Occitane moisturizer

3. Be generous when applying lotion. My kids and  I use Aveeno’s Baby Soothing Relief Moisturizing Cream. I find that creamy solutions are better for keeping the skin hydrated

4. Use a coconut oil spray to protect the scalp and hair when traveling in places with harsh elements such as strong winds and cold temperatures
